“Not even a year ago, my son came in to Developmental Therapy Associates to be evaluated for what we as his parents only understood as being very different and behind his peers. He was our sweet six-year-old angel that had a hard time keeping up with the other kids physically, academically and socially. This of course, breaks your heart as a parent as well as instills you with a fear of countless unknowns.
The amazing folks at DTA then took these fears from us, deconstructed them, wrapped them up in a nice little package with labels and protocols, walked us through step-by-step every tiny piece of information I wanted to hear for the billionth time and held our hands as parents through what could have been a very difficult time. They provided not only our son with elite speech and occupational therapies, but also US with therapy… just by being their own caring selves and never letting us feel alone.
My son has confidence now. He can look someone in the eye. He can jump. He can run. He takes risks and chances. He is on a higher level at school. He can use his imagination. He can speak to others and be understood. He has opinions and disagrees with me! Wahooo!
NONE of these things were possible, or even glimmers of hope in our eyes before walking through the doors of DTA.
I will be forever grateful for the excellence in care that we have received from this gem of an establishment. They have truly changed our lives forever. “
