Angela is an Occupational Therapist originally from Pilot Mountain, NC, and now calls Lewisville home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management from East Carolina University before completing her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Winston-Salem State University.

Angela brings extensive experience in neurological conditions and has a special passion for understanding how the brain influences development, movement, sensory processing, and everyday function. Her areas of interest include developmental delays, Autism, sensory processing, vision, brain injury, and stroke. She especially enjoys continuing to grow her pediatric experience and helping children build the skills they need to feel successful and confident in their everyday lives.

Angela has pursued a wide range of specialized training throughout her career. Her certifications include Certified Brain Injury Specialist, Functional Vision Rehab Specialist, Certified Functional Nutrition Informed Professional, and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). She has also completed Beckman Oral Motor training, Wilbarger Brushing Protocol training, NDT I & II, kinesiotaping, and training in the assessment and integration of primitive reflexes.

Her interest in pediatric care began early in her OT journey. While completing her mental health fieldwork at UNC-Chapel Hill, Angela volunteered with a constraint-induced pediatric OT summer camp. During graduate school, she also participated in research involving the Handwriting Without Tears program.

Outside of the clinic, Angela enjoys photography, growing her collection of plants, spending time outdoors, dabbling in art, and cuddling with her cat, Tinsley. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband, her son Dylan, and her parents, who she considers her best friends. Angela and her family are also big music fans and make a tradition of attending multiple Dave Matthews Band concerts together each year!

Angela is excited to join the DTA team and looks forward to supporting children and families as they celebrate their everyday successes.
