Emily Rulewicz
Barton Reading & Spelling Program - Speech Therapist
My name is Emily Rulewicz and I will be your child’s Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I earned my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University in 2021. Shortly following my undergraduate graduation, I decided to move back home and attend the University of Delaware to which I earned my M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology. I am originally from Delaware, but I loved the South so much I decided to make it my new home!
I have experience working with both the pediatric and adult population, however, working with children is my ultimate passion. Some of my favorite experiences include working in the school system, early intervention, and outpatient clinics. I enjoy collaborating with caregivers, teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, etc. and value creating a treatment plan that is individualized for every child’s needs. Figuring out which ways I can best serve and support each individual child and family is my favorite part of this job! My clinical experiences involve assessing and treating children with a variety of communication difficulties including, but not limited to, speech sound disorders, expressive/receptive/social language disorders/delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, AAC users, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. During my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, reading, cooking, and spending time with my friends and family.
