Kristel Abordo
Clinical - Occupational Therapist
Kristel is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree from Midwestern University in Illinois.
During her fieldwork experiences, Kristel worked in summer camp and school-based settings, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other developmental disabilities. She has experience targeting fine motor development, social-emotional skills, self-regulation strategies, and sensory exploration. Kristel is passionate about helping children build practical skills while also fostering confidence and independence in their everyday lives.
What Kristel enjoys most about pediatric occupational therapy is building meaningful connections with children and incorporating creativity into her therapy sessions. She loves designing engaging, individualized activities that make learning both fun and functional.
Outside of work, Kristel enjoys reading her Bible, listening to worship music, spending time outdoors, baking, and being with family and friends. She also plays acoustic guitar and enjoys singing.
