Nate Tarney

Nate has been a COTA since 2021. He joined DTA after working in adult and pediatric care across hospitals, nursing facilities, and daycares.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in zoology from NC State University and completed his Occupational Therapy Assistant degree at Durham Tech CC.

He has experience with various pediatric populations and has a particular interest in autism, ADHD, nontraditional communication, and emotional regulation.

His approach is client-led and integrates sensory experiences with emotional learning. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, cooking, video games, and spending time with his partner and his menagerie (two cats, a snake, several beetles, and three tarantulas).
